The arrested youths were identified as Nirav Chowdhury, (35), Mohit Roy (25), Amar Das (25), and Zubin Chowdhury, (32).
Digital Desk: As many as four youths have been detained from Assam's Bongaigaon district for their alleged involvement in drug peddling.
The arrested youths were identified as Nirav Chowdhury, (35), Mohit Roy (25), Amar Das (25), and Zubin Chowdhury, (32). The youths are said to be hail from Goalpara district.
According to sources, a group of six youths had come in a Swift Dzire car to buy drugs at the house of a woman named Sophia Khatun of Nambarpara 2nd block to buy drugs. Witnessing the scene the locals chased the youths and caught them.
Soon after receiving the information about the incident the local police officials rushed to the spot and seized Rs 7,000, four mobile phones, and so on from the youths.
It is to be noted that a few days ago, Sophia Khatun's husband Shafiqul Islam was arrested and sent to jail for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
