Digital Desk: Today marks the commencement of the main round Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy competition at the historical Judges’ Field in Guwahati. The first game featured a thrilling face-off between Barekuri FC Tinsukia and Northeast Frontier Railway.

The tournament opening ceremony was official inaugurated by from Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah, in the presence of several distinguished guests, including Partha Sarathi Mahanta of Guwahati Police and Devajit Saikia as BCCI Secretary and Guwahati Sports Association Secretary .

This marks the 70th edition, of one of Assam’s most prominent football festivities in sports culture. Various retired footballers received recognition for their service to the sport during the celebration of this major anniversary.

The tournament ensures intense sports fever, which helps keep the traditions of the Bordoloi Trophy intact. Fans can expect high-energy matches in the days ahead.
