Digital Desk: An uproar erupted among the student community across the state in protest against an alleged attempt to sexually assault a female student during the freshers' welcome ceremony at Goalpara College.
Firoz Iqbal Hasan, an NSUI student leader and member of the Students' Union, allegedly misbehaved with the female student during the event.
In response to the incident, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised protests in various parts of the state, demanding justice and strict action against the accused student leader.
ABVP members staged protests demanding strict punishment for the NSUI student leader involved in the attempted assault in Barpeta.
The protesters raised slogans such as "NSUI Murdabad," "Punish the guilty NSUI leader," and "Shame on NSUI," making the streets of Barpeta Road reverberate with their resounding chants.
As part of their protests, ABVP members symbolically burned effigies representing the Congress-affiliated student wing National Students' Union of India (NSUI), expressing their outrage and condemnation of the incident.
