An Indian Air Force officer, Dharmendra Kumar, was injured in a road accident on the Barpeta-Howly road.

Digital Desk: An Indian Air Force officer Dharmendra Kumar was injured during a vehicle collision that happened on the Barpeta-Howly road. He was travelling from Shillong to Bagdogra in West Bengal  along with his co-worker when they met with the accident.

The Mahindra XUV 700 (registration number DL 1 CA 7778) was driven by the officer when a Swift Dzire (registration number AS 15 M 6698) collided with it at high speed from the opposite direction. During the collision, the officer sustained injuries to his hand 

Following the accident, Howly police arrived at the scene and took control of the Swift Dzire driver after the accident for questioning. The accident led to a severe traffic jam on the Barpeta-Howly road. 

The authorities are investigating what caused the accident as police restored normal traffic flow following their presence at the scene.
