The restrictions are imposed to emphasize the safety of vulnerable road users, including children, students, senior citizens, and differently-abled individuals.

Digital Desk: Ahead of the much-anticipated IPL matches scheduled at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium, Barsapara, on March 26 and 30, the Guwahati Traffic Police has announced traffic regulations to assure public safety and the comfortable movement of vehicle owners.

The restrictions are imposed to emphasize the safety of vulnerable road users, including children, students, senior citizens, and differently-abled individuals. It is also aimed at facilitating the smooth movement of emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire tenders, and school buses.

The traffic restrictions are imposed from 2 PM to midnight on March 26 and 30. To avoid any disruptions during the match days, the traffic management plans the restrictions and diversions around the area of the ACA Stadium.

The restrictions will be imposed on key roads like G.S. Road, A.K. Azad Road, M. G. Road, A.T. Road, A.K. Dev Road, B.K. Kakati Road, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path, F.A. Road, etc. These roads will see limited access for commercial goods carriers and slow-moving vehicles.

A.K. Azad Road will operate as a one-way route from Lalganesh Tiniali to Cycle Factory from 3 PM onwards, while Kula Basumatary Road will operate as a one-way route from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali.

Parking on roads like A. K. Azad Road and A. K. Dev Road will be restricted, with limited parallel parking permitted in specific areas.

There will be six gates open for the entry of spectators, with separate access for teams, VIPs and general spectators.

Authorities have assured that all these restrictions will not hamper the movement of emergency vehicles such as fire tenders, ambulances, life-saving drugs, vehicles carrying oxygen cylinders, school buses, local residents, etc.
