The Congress candidate secured 144 out of 344 votes from his panchayat.

Digital Desk: An Assam man, Dhrubajyoti Saikia, who created a stir in the state by writing articles under the pseudonym Dr. Paridhi Sharma, won the Assam Panchayat Elections on May 11.

He won the polls from Ward No. 6 of Dikhowmukh Gaon Panchayat.

The Congress candidate secured 144 out of 344 votes from his panchayat.  

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has recently revealed a six-year literary scam of Dhrubajyoti Saikia, who has been writing articles under the pen name Dr Paridhi Sharma.  

He was using two phone numbers and pretended to be a woman to deceive the editors and writers. The photograph he was using for his articles was of an IAS officer from Karnataka. 

Saikia is a resident of Bharolua village of Sivasagar district. He allegedly deceived several editors and readers by impersonating a professor from Delhi University.

After his win, Saikia addressed the media and extended his gratitude to everyone for supporting him during the polls. 

He also mentioned about the recent controversy of him using the pseudonym and said that he would continue to write articles and work for the interest of the people.
