The polling process was completed in two phases on May 2 and May 7. A total of 39 polling stations have been set up for the counting of votes.

Digital Desk: The counting of votes for the Assam Panchayat Polls, 2025, is underway across the state. The counting began at 8 am on May 11 to announce the results of the much-anticipated Panchayat elections.

The polling process was completed in two phases on May 2 and May 7. A total of 39 polling stations have been set up for the counting of votes.

The counting of votes is expected to take several hours as voting was conducted by ballot papers.

The BJP coalition has already won 21 seats in the Zila Parishad and 190 seats in the Anchalik Panchayat upopposed.

The BJP and its allies already secured 311 seats out of 2,192 Anchalik Parishad unopposed.

Around 1.5 crore voters have cast their ballots in the Panchayat elections.

In the first phase, the polling took place in Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Charaideo, Sivasagar, Majuli, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Biswanath, Cachar, Hailakandi, and Sribhumi. 

The first phase of voting recorded a voter turnout of 70.19% across 14 districts.  More than 89.59 lakh people cast their vote in the first phase.

The second phase covered Dhubri, South Salmara, Mankachar, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Bajali, Nalbari, Kamrup Rural, Kamrup Metro, Hojai, Nagaon, Morigaon, and Darrang.  

The second phase saw a voter turnout of 56.71% with 91.31 lakh voters.
