The actor, who had been suffering from liver disease for a long time, was 54 years old at the time of his death. He had been undergoing treatment for the past few days in a hospital in Guwahati.

Digital Desk: Assamese actor and comedian Fwilao Basumatary, popularly known for his character "Basu da" in the situational comedy serial 'Beharbari Outpost', passed away on Tuesday night in Guwahati.

The actor, who had been suffering from liver disease for a long time, was 54 years old at the time of his death. He had been undergoing treatment for the past few days in a hospital in Guwahati.

His much-loved character "Basu da" was one of the main attractions of 'Beharbari Outpost'. Basumatary was also a Bodo language singer, with numerous popular Bodo songs in his name.

Fwilao Basumatary's sudden demise has shocked and saddened his fans, the Bodo community, and the cultural world.

Basumatary's funeral was held at his residence in Baksa.
