Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, some members of Bajrang Dal were seen chanting 'Jai Shree Ram' while reportedly engaging in disruptive activities at the Ambubachi Mela.

The Goria Moria Committee's camp, which was providing water to devotees of Ambubachi Mela, became a target of vandalism by the Bajrang Dal group.

Water bottles and chairs were destroyed, and the camp's banner was torn down by the group.

Amid the chaos, a reporter from Prag News, who was recording the incident, faced an attempted attack by the individuals believed to be aged between 15 to 30 years.

This incident has sparked widespread reactions and concerns among aware people.

The Ambubachi Mela, an annual Hindu gathering held at the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam, takes place during the monsoon season, coinciding with the Assamese month of Ahaar, typically around mid-June.

During this time, Devi Kamakhya is believed to undergo her annual cycle of menstruation.

From Sadhus to householders, lakhs of worshippers gather at the temple to offer prayers and seeks blessings.

This year, the Ambubachi Mela, one of Assam's most revered Hindu festivals, began on Sunday at the historic Kamakhya Temple atop the scenic Nilachal Hills.
