Trump in his address at the White House East Room, said, "From now on, women's sports will be only for women. The war on women's sports is over."

Digital Desk: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order to exclude transgender girls and women from female sports unless they were assigned female at birth. He also promised to withhold federal funding to the schools and colleges if they fail to abide by the order. Trump's executive order received widespread criticism from transgender athletes, human rights organizations, and federal courts as it allegedly restricts transgender rights and discriminates against LGBTQ+ people.

The White House in an executive order titled 'Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports' directed the Department of Justice to make sure all government agencies comply with the directive so that participation of transgender girls and women in female school sports should be restricted.

Trump in his address at the White House East Room, said, "From now on, women's sports will be only for women. The war on women's sports is over."

The White House Executive Order stated, "This is demeaning, unfair, and dangerous to women and girls, and denies women and girls the equal opportunity to participate and excel in competitive sports. Moreover, under Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 (Title IX), educational institutions receiving Federal funds cannot deny women an equal opportunity to participate in sports. As some Federal courts have recognized, ignoring fundamental biological truths between the two sexes deprives women and girls of meaningful access to educational facilities."

However, the earlier government led by Joe Biden backed transgender people to participate in female sports.

President Trump on January 20 after assuming his office, signed an executive order recognizing male and female as the only two sexes.
