Digital Desk: A court in Bangladesh has launched a murder investigation against ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and six senior members of her administration. The inquiry focuses on the police killing of a man during last month's civil unrest.

Sheikh Hasina, 76, fled to neighboring India by helicopter a week ago as protests erupted in Dhaka, marking a dramatic end to her leadership.

As per the news agency AFP, Mamun Mia, a lawyer representing a private citizen confirmed the development, stating, "A case has been filed against Sheikh Hasina and six others." He also noted that the Dhaka Metropolitan Court has instructed the police to proceed with the "murder case against the accused," which marks the beginning of a criminal investigation under Bangladeshi law.
