Scammers can easily manipulate QR scan method to steal money.

Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, a businessman , Pranjal Das from Lumding Children’s Park  felt into the trap as  he became a victim of cyber fraud. An unknown person came to him claiming that his money bag is stolen. The person requested  Pranjal Das asking for a small cash loan and  he said his relative would offer online repayment. Pranjal Das trusted the person to give him 4500 INR cash before permitting the stranger to scan his QR code for online payment.

Soon after the payment of 4500 INR arrived in Pranjal’s account through a fraudulent bank account in Gujarat. Unknowingly Pranjal helped in the  scam which led to his capture in the fraud trap. As a result, the crime investigation team froze Pranjal Das’s bank account.

People must exercise caution because unknown persons seeking you to scan QR codes represent a significant threat to online payments. By exploiting this method scammers can commit financial theft which endangers your account security. Anyone who wants to transfer money via online or QR code payment methods should always check identity before proceeding to prevent falling into scams.
