Digital Desk: The body of an unidentified woman, nearly 40 years old, was recovered on National Highway 27 near the 13-mile in Jorabat.
The body of the woman was found lying on the divider of National Highway 27 in the morning. Jorabat police arrived at the scene to recover the body around 5 am.
Authorities stated that there were no signs of any accident at the location. However, there were clear signs of injury on the woman's face, adding suspense to the incident.
The entire incident remains shrouded in mystery, with police suspecting that some miscreants may have committed the crime after taking advantage of the darkness and abandoning the body.
The Jorabat police recovered the body and sent it for an autopsy at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
