Breaking: Former Union Minister Babul Supriyo joins TMC

Kolkata: Former Union Minister Babul Supriyo has been inducted into the Trinamool Congress party (TMC), after recently quitting BJP. He joined the ruling TMC on Saturday in the presence of TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee and party's Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien.

Confirming the development, the TMC took to its official Twitter handle and shared several pictures of Supriyo with TMC leaders.

"Today, in the presence of National General Secretary @abhishekaitc and RS MP @derekobrienmp, former Union Minister and sitting MP @SuPriyoBabul joined the Trinamool family. We take this opportunity to extend a very warm welcome to him!" tweeted the party.
