As per the report, over a thousand people were killed in more than 20 locations across the Latakia, Tartous, and Hama governorates.
Digital Desk: In several deadly clashes between Syrian security forces and allied forces and supporters of ousted President Bashar al-Assad, more than 1,000 have lost their lives in just two days. This is one of the scariest clashes in the country since its civil war took place 14 years ago. People killed in the deadly clashes, including 745 civilians, 125 security personnel, and 148 militants affiliated with Assad.
As per the report, over a thousand people were killed in more than 20 locations across the Latakia, Tartous, and Hama governorates.
The US-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) noted that most of the civilians reportedly killed were from Syria's Alawite religious minority.
Security forces said that they retrieved control of several areas in Tartous and Latakia governorates.
Al Jazeera reported that a curfew remains effective in Latakia and other coastal areas.
Bashar al-Assad stepped down as Syria's president and fled to Russia in December last year, marking a significant turning point in the country's 14-year-long civil war.
