This new AI tool launched on Wednesday caused a massive viral trend that makes social media platforms showcase AI-generated outputs exclusively. Through GPT-4o technology, users created Ghibli-style figures including Elon Musk alongside Donald Trump while also reinterpreting The Lord of the Rings scenes as well as a criticized representation of the September 11 attacks. OpenAI faced server overload when users tremendously increased their demand for the service.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman made an appeal to X users to reduce their image generation requests because the service demanded too much from his team. He posted on X (formerly Twitter) saying, "Can y'all please chill on generating images? This is insane, our team needs sleep. His posts-old revealed the extreme strain put on company resources because users wanted to test the new tool.
Netizens have become fascinated by the "Images in ChatGPT" feature that allows them to convert regular photos into Ghibli-inspired artworks, which attracts many users.
