Three third gender people were arrested during the drive
Digital Desk: In a major late-night operation led by DCP East Mrinal Deka, and in the presence of ADCP and ACP officers, the Dispur Police conducted a targeted drive against antisocial elements in the Ganeshguri area on Thursday night. This led to the arrest of 23 people including 19 men and 4 women, who were suspected to have engaged in suspicious and illegal activities. All detained people were taken taken to the police station where additional character checking was done.
Last night three people of third gender, were arrested on the drive. They are desired in case of Dispur Police Station Case No. They are wanted in connection with Dispur Police Station Case No. 27/2025 under sections 132/324(3)/117(2)/296/329(4)/3(5) read with Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984.
These late-night raids were part of heightened security measures following unrest caused by a group of third-gender individuals in the area on Wednesday night. In response to the unrest, Dispur Police intensified their street patrols, actively dispersing individuals involved in antisocial behavior and restoring public order.
The crackdown has spread to other strategic places such as Six Mile, and this operation is just a large portion of a bigger crackdown in order to guarantee the people safety.
