Digital Desk: In the latest development in the Dibrugarh University ragging incident, police arrested another accused on Tuesday night. 

The arrested student has been identified as Subhrajit Baruah. Reportedly, he was arrested from Tingkhong in the Dibrugarh district.

Baruah went into hiding after his identity was linked to the ragging episode involving Dibrugarh University student Anand Sarma. 

Meanwhile, 22 university students have been expelled for their alleged participation in the ragging case.

Notably, the university's first-semester student jumped from the third floor of a hostel building on Sunday to avoid ragging.

Currently, the victim, Anand Sarma, is undergoing treatment at Aditya Hospital in Dibrugarh. 

On Sunday night, the Dibrugarh Police detained three senior students in connection with the ragging incident.

The students arrested in linked with the incident were Simanta Hazarika, Niranjan Thakur and Pranjit Baruah. They were all resident students of Padmanath Gohain Baruah Students’ Hostel.
