Digital Desk: In a significant boost to air connectivity in the Northeast, residents of Arunachal Pradesh and surrounding areas will soon have direct flight access to the national capital. IndiGo Airlines will start operate four days a week from Donyi Polo Airport in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, beginning this 17th September.

It is hoped that the new route will provide a convenient travelling experience to business and leisure travelers alike. It will also greatly improve the connectivity in the region and make Itanagar easier to reach in other parts of India.

Officials are of the opinion that the service will encourage tourism, enhance trading opportunities, and overall integration of Arunachal Pradesh with the rest of the country and this will be a major milestone in the development of the region.
