Digital Desk: A shocking incident has come to light in Lanka, where a 65-year-old woman, identified as Kaje Inghipi, was tragically murdered by her son.


The horrifying incident occurred at Durbin Tila, located near East Udali in Lanka.


The accused, identified as 35-year-old Expoot Dera, allegedly attacked his mother with a machete inside their home, leading to her death.


After committing the crime, the suspect was reportedly seen wandering outside in a disoriented state.


Local residents intervened, apprehended him and handed him over to the police after subjecting him to a beating.


The incident is believed to have taken place on the morning of March 22.


The police have recovered the victim's body from the house, along with the weapon used in the crime.


Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.


The police have since arrested the accused and are continuing their investigation into the matter.
