Digital Desk: In a viral video, former Assam Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta's daughter Prajoyeeta Kashyap was seen assaulting a driver with a slipper on Monday. As the video of the assault surfaced on social media platforms, the woman alleged that the driver, who had been working with them for a long time, often misbehaved under the influence of alcohol.

In her response, Prajoyeeta Kashyap said that the man often drinks and passes comments on her. Everyone tried to make him understand and told him not to repeat it. But he crossed all the limits when he banged on her door.
However, she avoided a response when asked why she did not file a police complaint, rather she argued that women are often blamed in such incidents. She also refused to specify whether the driver was a government employee or private employee of the Mahanta family.
Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, former president of Asom Gana Parishad, and two-time Assam Chief Minister, has been staying in the MLA hostel with his family despite not being a legislator.
