According to the allegations, the 10-year-old son fell victim to his mother’s lover’s monstrous act. The murder was so horrific that after killing the 10-year-old, his body was stuffed into a suitcase and dumped in some bushes near Basistha Temple in Guwahati.
According to the PTI report, Guwahati Police Deputy Commissioner (East) Mrinal Deka stated that on Saturday, the child’s mother filed a missing report claiming that her son didn’t return home from tuition.
The police began the investigation based on that complaint. The police officer said, "We started the investigation and found a suitcase in the bushes near the Basistha Temple. Later, it was discovered that the boy had already been stuffed in the suitcase, and then it was dumped."
The police officers have further added that during the investigation, the mother’s lover surrendered and took the police officials to the place where he had dumped the body. The Police Officer said, “We have arrested the man. And at the same time, the mother has been detained and interrogated about the same incident."
As informed by the DGP, the Forensic and the CID team have visited the place and collected major evidence. He also said that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination, which will be conducted on Monday. The Police Officer further stated that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
