Digital Desk: A significant breakthrough has been achieved by the Basistha Police as they successfully apprehended a notorious gang of robbers known nationwide as the 'Tirchi Gang.'
All five members of the infamous gang have been taken into custody.
The gang had been instilling fear in Guwahati by smashing the windows of parked vehicles and stealing cash along with valuable items.
On June 12 and 17, the gang targeted vehicles in Beltola and Basistha, stealing cash and important documents from two victims.
Following complaint of these individuals, the Basistha Police launched a strategic operation, leading to the arrest of all five gang members from various locations across Guwahati.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Vishal Naidu, Shankar Naidu, and Karti Eramgam Naidu from Tamil Nadu, and Kadribel Eramgam Naidu and Venkatesh Marna Naidu from Maharashtra.
Additionally, the police seized various tools and items used by the gang to break vehicle windows.
