Digital Desk: A girl child met with a tragic end after a piece of stone from an under-construction building fell on her while she was sleeping in Guwahati's Chatribari.
The tragic incident occurred around 5 PM on Monday. She was rushed to the Nemcare Hospital following serious injuries. Later, she was shifted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where she succumbed to her injuries.
The child was identified as Papiya Barman. Her body has been kept at the GMCH) morgue for postmortem.
The incident has sparked outrage among the residents of Chatribari. They have raised allegations against the Sipani Complex for illegally constructing the building in the area.
Police have not yet registered an FIR despite requests being made from residents.
A team of Police arrived at the spot to investigate the heart-wrenching incident.
