The IMD bulletin predicts that during the next five days, there will be isolated heavy rainfall over the northeastern part of India, in addition to light to moderate rainfall, fairly widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.

"Isolated very heavy rainfall is also likely over Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday, and Assam and Meghalaya on Sunday and Monday with extremely heavy falls on Sunday over Assam and Meghalaya," it further said.

Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely to be experienced over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on Sunday, as well as over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on August 28 and 29. For east India, the IMD forecasted light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning.

Over north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, mild to moderate dispersed with isolated heavy rainfall is highly possible.

The IMD said in its forecast that, "Subdued rainfall activity likely over rest parts of the country during next 5 days. Hot and humid weather likely to prevail over Kerala and adjoining Tamil Nadu during next 3 days.”
