The Assam police said that two women identified as Rupali Dutta and Ganga Ganju were the prime accused involved in the racket, who sold the two minor tribal girls under the pretense of providing jobs.
Digital Desk: In a breakthrough against human trafficking, two minors from Assam were rescued by the Assam Police in Rajasthan. The two girls were trafficked, sold, and forced to marry older men in the state, police said.
In collaboration with Rajasthan police, the police personnel from Assam conducted the operation and arrested a man, Leela Ram, involved in the racket. Leela Ram married one of the two girls after paying Rs 4 lakh, was arrested, and brought to Assam.

A senior police officer said that following a complaint by a tea garden worker on January 24, the Cachar police launched an operation. However, one missing girl escaped and returned home, and informed police that they fled home on January 5 as they were offered attractive jobs. They were taken to Hyderabad and then Rajasthan where they were forcefully married to older men.
The police then took help from Rajasthan police and traced the location of the other girl's phone number. They found her at the home of Leela Ram in a village near Jaipur.
The police rescued the minor and arrested and brought Leela Ram to Assam.
