Guwahati: India Club, recognized as one of Assam's premier tennis and social organizations, has announced the election of its new executive committee. The leadership body, chosen during the club's 89th annual general meeting held at its premises, is set to serve a term from 2026 to 2028.
Dwip Baruah will lead the newly formed committee as President. He will be supported by Anirban Das and Sattyakee D’com Bhuyan, who have been elected as Vice-Presidents. Biswadeep Bora will take on the crucial role of General Secretary, overseeing the club's administrative functions.
Further strengthening the executive team, Rajiv Dutta has been appointed as Joint Secretary for Club Services, while Samarjit Durga Neog will serve as Joint Secretary for Sports. Anshuman Dutta will manage the tennis-related activities as Joint Secretary for Tennis, reflecting the club's strong focus on the sport. Krishnananda Das has been elected Treasurer, responsible for the financial stewardship of the organization.
The general body also elected Niren Majumdar, Bhaskar Hazarika, Manash Kumar Das, Kaushik Talukdar, and Ankush Dutta as executive committee members. The meeting, chaired by outgoing president Bijan Kumar Choudhury, involved extensive deliberations on various matters concerning the club's development, member welfare, and its long-term vision, with members emphasizing a collaborative approach to achieve future goals.
