Digital Desk: Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has deployed China's cutting-edge PL-15 air-to-air missiles near the Indian border.

As tensions between the neighbouring countries heightened, PAF has received 'express' deliveries of PL-15, which is possibly intended to counter India's attack.

The PL-15's long range will help Pakistani pilots strike Indian aircraft from a greater distance. The shipment of PL-15 to Pakistan was completed keeping in mind a swift response to the escalating tensions with India.

What is the PL-15 missile?

The PL-15 is an active radar-guided long-range air-to-air missile developed by Luoyang-based China Airborne Missile Academy (CAMA). This missile is measured between 3.8 and 4 metres, longer and wider than other contemporary radar missiles. It has a reported range between 200 and 300 kilometres and a capacity of a speed of Mach 4+. The missile also features improved resistance to countermeasures.

As India responds strongly to Pakistan after the harrowing terror attack in Pahalgam, a sense of dread has gripped the Pakistan army.

India has stopped water flow from the Baglihar Hydroelectric Power Project on the Chenab River in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Pahalgam terror attack considered one of the deadliest attacks in J&K since the 2019 Pulwama attack, claimed the lives of 28 Indians following an open fire by the Resistance Force (TRF), a local offshoot of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba on April 22.
