According to the report, India maintains diplomatic relations with Iran through both Tehran and Delhi to guarantee the well-being and prompt release of its citizens.

Digital Desk: According to a report by the news agency PTI, the Iranian military seized a container ship near the Strait of Hormuz that is connected to Israel and carries at least 17 Indian nationals.

According to the report, India maintains diplomatic relations with Iran through both Tehran and Delhi to guarantee the well-being and prompt release of its citizens.

This comes as there is a growing possibility that Iran could attack Israel in response to an attack on its embassy in Syria on April 1. Israel, on the other hand, has categorically denied any role in the attack on the Iranian consulate.

The MSC Aries was taken over by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards on Saturday morning while it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz, marking the latest development in the hostilities between the two countries.

In the midst of heightened tensions between Tehran and the West, an attack near the Strait of Hormuz by commandos was seen on camera earlier on Saturday and was attributed to Iran by a Middle East defense official.

The Portuguese-flagged MSC Aries was escorted into Iranian waters by a Guards helicopter, according to Iran's state-run IRNA news agency, which also claimed that Israel was involved.

Operating company MSC announced that it was cooperating "with the relevant authorities" to ensure the ship's safe return and the well-being of its twenty-five crew members after Iran had taken control of the vessel.
