Digital Desk: A horrific road accident occurred near Chandrapur in Guwahati, leaving a woman from Kolkata critically injured.
The victim, identified as 42-year-old Suma Diasa was staying at a hotel in Guwahati with plans to visit Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.
On Sunday morning, she rented a scooter bearing registration number AS-01 GK 6320 and set off towards her destination.
While on her way, a goat unexpectedly appeared in front of her scooter, causing her to lose control and fall onto the road.
Tragically, at the same moment, a vehicle bearing registration number AS-01 EZ 7358 approached from the same direction and ran over her.
Suma Diasa sustained severe injuries and was immediately rescued by police, who rushed her to a nearby hospital.
Her condition remains critical at the time of reporting.
The accident caused significant traffic congestion along the Chandrapur-Narengi main road, further complicating the situation.
