 The landslide has caused a complete blockage, affecting daily travel and transportation.

Digital Desk: The National Highway-313 in Anini was struck by a massive landslide during evening hours of 26th  February  in Dibang Valley District, Arunachal Pradesh which caused severe traffic disruptions. Heavy rainfall throughout past weeks triggered the landslide that destroyed vital sections of the National Highway-313 which runs between Roing in Lower Dibang Valley and Anini in Dibang Valley.

This highway holds strategic importance due to its proximity to the international border with China and is vital for the region’s connectivity. Through this vital link Dibang Valley's residents obtain the sole means to transport themselves together with their merchandise between the region and the outside world . The landslide has caused a complete blockage, affecting daily travel and transportation. 

The district administration has deployed both personnel and heavy machinery to accelerate the repair work of the damaged road. While efforts are underway, it is expected to restore normal traffic conditions over the course of multiple days.

The District Magistrate of Dibang Valley has declared a traffic restriction that commands travelers to stay away from the area during the repair operations. Travelers must stay away from the restoration zone since it remains dangerous until maintenance operations finish.
