The Maharashtra State Skill University is to be renamed after Ratan Tata...

Digital Desk: The nation mourns the death of India's most prominent figure Ratan Tata, who passed away on October 9 at the age of 86 in Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. The Maharashtra Government led by Eknath Shinde grieved about the loss and stated that India lost a gem.

On Monday,14th October the state government discussed in a cabinet meeting and announced that the contributions of Ratan Tata should be honored to the u most level, and hence they took the decision to rename the Maharashtra State Skill Development University as "Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skill University" in the name of the one who led the Tata Groups for more than two decades and contributed to the society in every possible way.

The state government also requested for Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award given by the Indian government. Addressing the meeting presided over by Chief Minister Shinde said that Tata should be given Bharat Ratna as a tribute to his contribution to India's growth story.
