Digital Desk: Unable to bear mental and physical abuse from his wife, a man reportedly committed suicide in Dhing, Nagaon, on his two-year-old daughter's birthday.
As per report, Parinita Saikia from Borbheti Sonari village in Dhing married Dipankar Nath from Naam Dumdumia, Dhing, three years ago. However, just a week after their marriage, conflicts began between them.
Despite the arrival of a baby girl during this period, their marital conflicts continued in the household.
Allegations suggest that Parinita had been living most of her time at her father's house. She subjected her husband Dipankar to frequent mental and physical abuse.
Dipankar had nearly finished preparing to celebrate their daughter's birthday on the day of his death. However, Parinita, who lives at her paternal home, was dissatisfied with the decision to hold the birthday celebration at Dipankar's house, which initiated an argument between them.
Following the heated altercation over the phone, Dipankar, unable to bear his wife's mental torture any longer, consumed poison on his way from Morigaon to Dhing.
Dipankar was immediately rushed to a hospital where he breathed his last. Ultimately, Dipankar’s funeral took place on his daughter's birthday, and Parinita did not even pay a visit after his passing.
This incident has now sparked widespread outrage among the women's community in Naam Dumdumia, Dhing. According to allegations made by Dipankar's family, he killed himself because he was unable to handle Parinita Saikia's physical and emotional abuse.
Local women claim that Parinita Saikia is entirely to blame for the entire incident. Meanwhile, Dipankar's family has filed a report against Parinita at the Dhing police station.
