Digital Desk: President Droupadi Murmu has agreed to hear opposition parties' concerns about the ongoing Manipur problem from Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge. The President has agreed to meet with Opposition MPs (Members of Parliament) on Wednesday at 11.30 a.m.

Since the start of the monsoon session on July 20, opposition parties in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha have demanded a detailed discussion on the violence in Manipur.

They have also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi make a speech in Parliament about the state's situation.

The opposition has expressed an alarming situation and has requested the President's intervention in the Manipur violence case.

A group of 21 Opposition MPs visited the conflict-torn state of Manipur for two days and talked with conflict-affected people. The delegation visited impacted areas and met with people living in relief camps in both the hills and the valley.

Before leaving, the opposition leaders delivered a memorandum to Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey, demanding immediate rehabilitation and resettlement of the afflicted people to restore peace and harmony to the state.
