Three villagers identified as Girija Newar, Khem Newar, and Suraj Magar have been accused of assaulting the young man. 

Digital Desk: In a distressing incident of moral policing in Udalguri's Rowta, a 24-year-old youth was beaten to death by a mob over his alleged involvement in a theft case. The incident took place at around 11 PM on March 13 in Kathalbari village of Rowta, where an angry mob tied and assaulted the young man identified as Lalmohan Roy.  

Lalmohan was caught by the villagers on the suspicion of stealing betel nuts. After the assault, he was rushed to the hospital, however, he succumbed to his injuries on March 20.

Three villagers identified as Girija Newar, Khem Newar, and Suraj Magar have been accused of assaulting the young man. Shockingly, police have not arrested the three individuals even after 24 hours of the incident.

The victim's family has demanded justice and filed an FIR against the accused. The All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students' Union (AKRSU) has issued a warning to arrest the accused within 24 hours.
