Armanur, who had been absconding after the abduction, was arrested when the police team launched an extensive search operation to catch him.

Digital Desk: The prime accused of the BJP MLA Ramakanta Deuri's granddaughter's alleged abduction was arrested from Morigaon on March 17. Following an FIR filed by the victim's family, four individuals were arrested by the Morigaon police including a 17-year-old girl.

However, the girl was granted bail by the Juvenile Court. The remaining accused- Bhabhajit Medhi, Fizulat Rahman, and Abinash Thakuria have been in police custody. The prime accused of the alleged abduction, Armanur Rahman was also arrested by the police following a massive search operation.

Armanur, who had been absconding after the abduction, was arrested when the police team launched an extensive search operation to catch him. Meanwhile, the victim, MLA Ramakanta Deuri's granddaughter was rescued successfully with joint assistance by the Guwahati City Police and Golaghat Police.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
