The motorcyclist refuelled his motorcycle at a petrol pump in Patharquarry and was on his way back to his destination
Digital Desk: A shocking incident unfolded in Patharquarry area of Guwahati after a moving Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle caught fire, leaving an Army jawan narrowly escaping a major mishap.
The incident involved Naik Sarvez (26), an Army personnel from the Narengi Army Camp. According to reports, he had refuelled his motorcycle (registration number UP62-BD-2207) at a petrol pump in Patharquarry and was on his way back to the camp.
While passing through the Patharquarry Tiniali area, the motorcycle suddenly caught fire. Acting swiftly, the jawan stopped the bike and rushed towards a nearby hotel to fetch water.
Moments later, the fuel tank of the motorcycle exploded with a loud sound, engulfing the entire vehicle in flames. The fire also spread to nearby vegetation, creating panic in the area.
Local residents, along with personnel from the Satgaon Traffic Police, managed to bring the fire under control by pouring water. After the blaze was extinguished, the damaged motorcycle was recovered and taken to Satgaon Police Station.
No casualties were reported, and the jawan managed to escape unharmed.
