Diplomatic efforts in the Middle East yielded results on Thursday as Iran allowed Indian oil tankers to pass through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz following discussions between S. Jaishankar and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical maritime chokepoints, through which a significant share of global crude oil and natural gas shipments pass, making it vital for international energy trade.
