A vehicle belonging to a satellite news channel was set ablaze by agitated protesters and fans of Zubeen Garg outside Baksa Jail, shortly after the five accused in the singer’s case were transferred there. Several journalists present at the scene sustained serious injuries during the chaos.

An alleged murder has been reported at the Railway Colony in Bamunimaidam, Guwahati. The incident occurred at the Durga Puja pandal of Kalibari Jagariti Sangha.
