Digital Desk: Nora Fatehi, an actor and dancer, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India for providing assistance to earthquake-stricken Morocco.
Fatehi, a Canadian artist of Moroccan tradition who has starred in numerous dance numbers in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam films, hailed the prime minister after he stated that India is prepared to provide the North African country with all possible help during this tough time.
“Thank you Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this big support! You were one of the first countries to raise awareness and extend a helping hand! “The Moroccan people are very thankful and grateful! Jai Hind,” she wrote on her Instagram Story alongside PM Modi’s post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Late on Friday, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit Morocco. The Moroccan Interior Ministry announced late Saturday that the earthquake claimed the lives of 2,012. A minimum of 2,059 injuries, including 1,404 critical ones, were reported.

He had previously stated that "in this difficult hour, the entire world community is with Morocco, and we are ready to offer them all possible assistance."
In numerous images shared on social media by Moroccans, damaged portions of the renowned red walls that encircle the old city in mediaeval Marrakech, a UNESCO World Heritage site, are seen as well as structures reduced to dust and debris.
