As the automobile was covered in stickers, the security personnel on the scene displayed a message...

Digital Desk: The driver in US President Joe Biden's convoy was held in Delhi on Saturday for careless driving, according to sources, who added that he was later released following questioning.

According to sources, the incident occurred as one of the cars from the American President's convoy entered the Taj Hotel, where UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was staying during the G20 Summit in New Delhi.

As the automobile was covered in stickers, the security personnel on the scene displayed a message.

When questioned, the car's driver stated that he was due to arrive at the ITC Maurya, where Biden was staying, at 9.30 a.m.

He did, however, arrive at the Taj since he needed to drop off a businessman whom he had picked up from the Lodhi Estate area at the Taj.

The driver stated that he was unaware of the process.

He was released when security personnel questioned him and pulled the automobile from the convoy.

Biden landed in New Delhi on Friday for the two-day G20 conference and met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi the same day. On Saturday, Biden also attended crucial sessions of the G20 Summit.

On Sunday morning, he left for Vietnam after paying his respects at Mahatma Gandhi's Rajghat tomb in Delhi.
