Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the ninth individual was arrested in the Sribhumi district on Friday night, April 25.

Digital Desk: Assam Police have arrested a total of nine individuals for posting pro-Pakistan slogans after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam's Baisaran Valley of Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the ninth individual was arrested in the Sribhumi district on Friday night, April 25.

Taking to X, CM Sarma said that an individual, identified as Md Mustak Ahmed, son of Kabir Ahmed from Sribhumi's Saykut village was arrested by the police on Friday night. He added that the detained individual posted 'Pakistan Zindabad' slogan on Facebook.

Earlier, Assam police arrested eight individuals from different places across Assam for supporting the deadly terror attack by defending Pakistan and its involvement in terrorism.

Among them, Assam police have arrested AIUDF MLA of Dhing constituency, Aminul Islam and District Secretary of the Satra Mukti Sangram Parishad of Biswanath, Anil Bania.

Three-time MLA Aminul Islam was arrested from his residence in Nagaon, after a video of him allegedly defending Pakistan, went viral. He was arrested and produced before the court on Friday.

The arrested individuals are:

2. A K Bahauddin of Silchar
3. Javed Mazumdar of Silchar
4. Mahahar Mia of Morigaon
5. AIUDF MLA, Aminul Islam of Nagaon
6. Sahil Ali of Sivasagar
7. Jarif Ali of Barpeta
8. Anil Bania, District Secretary of the Satra Mukti Sangram Parishad of Biswanath
9. Mustak Ahmed of Sribhumi
