CM Sarma addressed the media in Guwahati on the sidelines of the BJP's unveiling of the manifesto "Sankalp Patra" for the upcoming Panchayat elections in Assam at the party headquarters on April 26. Assam BJP Chief Dilip Saikia also attended the launch event.

Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday issued a strict warning against individuals found posting anti-national and pro-Pakistani sentiments, directly or indirectly. He said that individuals found guilty would be booked under the National Security Act (NSA).

CM Sarma addressed the media in Guwahati on the sidelines of the BJP's unveiling of the manifesto "Sankalp Patra" for the upcoming Panchayat elections in Assam at the party headquarters on April 26. Assam BJP Chief Dilip Saikia also attended the launch event.

During his address, CM Sarma said that Assam will arrest anyone who posts-old an anti-India statement. If somebody supports Pakistan, directly or indirectly, NSA will be slapped, he further said.

He added that there are no similarities between India and Pakistan. The two countries are enemy nations and it must remain like that, Sarma told reporters.

Authorities are examining all social media posts-old and action will be taken against people who share anti-national posts-old.

Assam Police have arrested more than 11 individuals for posting pro-Pakistan slogans after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam's Baisaran Valley of Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.

Among the arrested individuals, Assam police have arrested AIUDF MLA of Dhing constituency, Aminul Islam and District Secretary of the Satra Mukti Sangram Parishad of Biswanath, Anil Bania.

The Pahalgam terror attack considered one of the deadliest attacks in J&K since the 2019 Pulwama attack, claimed the lives of 28 Indians following an open fire by the Resistance Force (TRF), a local offshoot of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba on April 22.
