Jaipur: Around 130 People on Wednesday night fell ill after consuming food in a marriage ceremony in Sardarshahar in Churu District.

The marriage rituals of four marriages were performed in a joint family, and baraats from Jodhpur, Ladnun, and two from Bidasar arrived at Sardarshahar.

The rituals were performed on Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday evening, a government hospital in Sardarshahar was flooded with people, and it kept increasing.

According to Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, chief medical health officer, Churu, “All the patients came and complaint about diarrhea and around 90 people came to the hospital on Wednesday night. On Thursday morning more people came to the hospital.”

“Majority of them are not serious, and many of them have already reached home after treatment,” said Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma.

“We are suspecting that those who have fallen ill might have consumed left-over food of afternoon in the evening as no such cases have been reported from Bidasar from where two baraats had come to Sardarshahar”. he added.

The health department officials are suspecting that the curd and paneer which was served in the ceremony become stale which led to 130 people becoming ill.
