Deepak Sharma died at the age of 57 in Chennai's Rela Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment.
He earned recognition as one of India's most distinguished flutists. By 2013, he had composed music for three Assamese films and served as the music director for the Zee TV show, Karma and Wazir, showcasing his exceptional talent and artistic vision.
Born in Panigaon of undivided Kamrup district (now part of Nalbari district), Assam, Deepak Sharma hailed from a humble background.
His father, the late Pramod Sharma, played a significant role in shaping his life.
Deepak Sharma pursued his Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Guwahati Commerce College.
For the past few years, he had been battling liver disease, a struggle that ultimately claimed his life.
His untimely demise has cast a shadow of grief over Assam, as the state bids farewell to one of its most cherished cultural icons.
