The argument started over his run-out after Jos Buttler played a delivery of Zeeshan Ansari on the sixth ball of the 13th over. Buttler played the ball toward short fine leg and went for a single.

Digital Desk: Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill and the on-field umpire were involved in a heated exchange of words on May 2 during a high-stake clash between GT and the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat.

The argument started over his run-out after Jos Buttler played a delivery of Zeeshan Ansari on the sixth ball of the 13th over. Buttler played the ball toward short fine leg and went for a single.

However, Harshal Patel collected the ball and threw it to the stumps. Initially, the third umpire was confused about declaring the decision, but he ultimately ruled in favour of SRH.

The decision made Gill upset and he engaged in an animated chat with the umpire. The 25-year-old opener was declared run out by the third umpire in a controversial manner.

During the heated argument between Gill and the umpire, Abhishek Sharma had to intervene as things got intense. Abhishek tried to calm down Shubman during the verbal spat.

Despite the controversial incident, GT delivered a huge total of 224 runs, while SRH could only score 186 in response. Gill scored a 76-run knock, while Sai Sudarshan scored 48 and Buttler scored 64 runs against SRH.
