Digital Desk: The Singapore Coroner's Court has delivered its final verdict, stating that Zubeen Garg's death resulted from accidental drowning and was of natural cause.


In its statement, the court clarified, "Singer Zubeen Garg died unexpectedly due to drowning," emphasizing that no evidence of foul play or murder was found.


Present at the hearing were Garg's uncle, Manoj Borthakur, and Rahul Gautam Sharma.


The court described Zubeen Garg's death as an unfortunate and sudden incident. Following multiple hearings, the judgement was officially delivered today.


Previously, allegations of a conspiracy surrounding Zubeen Garg's death had surfaced, stirring public speculation.


However, the court upheld the findings of Singapore's Coast Guard, which concluded that there was no deliberate attempt by anyone to push Zubeen Garg to his death.


On September 19, 2025, Assam's beloved cultural icon Zubeen Garg tragically passed away under mysterious circumstances in Singapore, leaving a deep sense of loss among the people of Assam.


Initially, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had described the singer's death as a murder, sparking widespread outrage. Demands for justice led to massive protests, which continues to this day.


The Assam Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) conducted an extensive investigation into Zubeen Garg's death, culminating in a 12,000-page charge sheet.


Meanwhile, proceedings related to the investigation have also commenced in the Fast Track Court.
