Digital Desk: A heart-wrenching incident has sent shockwaves through the entire region of Charaisungi village under the jurisdiction of Tengakhat Police Station, where the lifeless body of a 3-year-old girl was found earlier today.
The victim, identified as Amachi Mura, the daughter of Raj Mura, had been reported missing since February 22.
Her disappearance plunged the family into distress, prompting them to file a complaint at Tengakhat Police Station and conduct an extensive search in the surrounding area. Unfortunately, their efforts yielded no results.
The heartbreaking discovery was made this morning when Raj Mura noticed something suspicious in a ditch while cutting bamboo near his residence.
Upon closer inspection, he realised it was the decomposed body of his missing daughter.
The incident was immediately reported to the local villagers and the village headman, who then informed the Tengakhat Police.
Senior police officials, accompanied by a magistrate, arrived at the scene to recover the partially decomposed remains.
The body was then sent to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh for a post-mortem examination.
As of now, the Tengakhat Police has not uncovered any leads in the case. However, they have assured the community that a thorough investigation is underway.
The tragic discovery has left the community in shock and mourning.
