The altercation arose after Jiten Nath allegedly spent ₹1,000 from the ₹10,000 cash his wife and her father had received under the Chief Minister’s Udyamita Scheme to mark the New Year. Angered by the expenditure, Akan Nath reportedly struck Jiten Nath on the head with a stick, leading to fatal injuries.
The Lanka Police rushed to the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. Akan Nath has been taken into custody for questioning, and further investigations are underway.
The incident has shocked the local community, highlighting the deadly consequences of disputes within families over money. Authorities have urged restraint and warned against resorting to violence in such matters.
