Digital Desk : A heartbreaking incident occurred in Panikhaiti, located in South Kamrup’s Sonatoli area, where a 5-year-old girl went missing in the rising waters of the Brahmaputra River. The victim, a little  girl by the name Amina Khatun, daughter of Anowar Hussain in Panikhaiti village was bathing  along with a friend in the river when she was swept by strong.


Following the incident, Sontoli Police reached the spot and coordinated with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). SDRF teams also started an operation in the river to search the child yet, he is still missing. Sorrow has overtaken the whole Sontoli area and hope is getting diminished by each passing hour.


The incident highlights the dangers posed by the swollen Brahmaputra during the monsoon season. Search efforts are still ongoing.
